Add a favicon to your site

Browsers are pretty smart when it comes to using a favicon on your site, the only challenge for you is choosing an icon that looks decent at a very small size.

Generally, if you have a file in the root of your website named favicon.ico, a browser will pick it up.

It's good practice though, to include explicitly let the browser know the location of your favicon with the following tag, placed between the <head> tags on your site:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" />

Now that you know how to point the browser in the direction of your favicon, you might be asking, how do I create the icon?
